Fashion on Friday - Kim's Summer Staples

Hello everyone!!!  Mandy is enjoying one of our most favorite places - CharlestonšŸ this week, so it's my turn to share some of my favorite summer styles for Fashion Friday.

This year, I have really been trying to pick things I can wear way into the fall and keep for more than summer.
(Simplifying in my hot mess closet will have to be a whole other blog post!)

Here are some pieces that I have been loving since the weather turned warm (in the South that means: hot, humid and spotty/strong thunderstormish).

During the summer I'm in office two days a week and the other days I am in Kidventure mode, so generally my wardrobe is casual with some color.  I tend to pick one or two bottoms that can go with lots of different tops.

I will attempt to actually try these and show how they fit me on Instagram over the next few days too, you know how very talented Mandy and I are with modelingšŸ˜‚

So I have very pleased with the Cabi pieces I have picked up over the last few months.  These are bright, stylish, flattering and great for work and going out.  I hosted a Cabi party earlier this year, and earned some half off pieces

ALSO, at the end of the season, my Cabi stylist sells off her inventory at half off or more depending on the release date.
My Cabi Stylist Amy Haddock is a total rock star by the way (the link takes you to her home page, her cute picture is in the top right hand corner)!!!  Reach out to Amy, or your Cabi Stylist to see what they have on their sample rack and save big!!

It was love at first site with the Sunshine Tank!  I love the print, colors and fit!!  It's super lightweight, but can be worn without a cami (not see through).  I feel like I have to wear a cami under everything these days!!!

The Amelia Jacket is the cutest fit and such a versatile fabric and design.  I have loved this one since I first saw it too, but resisted, because I have a tendency to look about 200 lbs heavier when I wear a blazer or jacket.  This one has a very flattering cut and moves with you.  I pulled this from the sample sale!

The Mist Top  is a beautiful color with elegant comfort.  I love the fit, soft fabric and of course, bum covering length!

The Rose Top is another staple: soft, flattering, bum covering and vibrant!

Bow Halter is soft and has quite a bit of (bum covering) length to it.  It's super comfortable and cool for humid days.

The Quest Pants are comfy and flattering!!  I wear them dressed up with wedges and I wear them dressed down with Birkenstocks.  I love them, and if Cabi releases The Quest in any other colors, I will get them for sure!

Academy Sports
Academy Sports is rather convenient for me to get to from Signal Mountain, and I pop in there from time to time to browse around.  I really like the Magellan and BCGS brands, which I think are kind of like their store brands.  Last summer I bought a few pairs of BCG running shorts, I love them. The price was right, and I wear them all the time.  Perfect for traveling, going to the lake/beach, working out or lounging.  I love these shorts!!  I couldn't find the exact pair I have online, I have the running shorts in pink and blue. But this is similar:

I have had a love affair with JCrew for a long, long time.  I feel like lately, I am finding pieces that are my first picks out of the dryer (or off the drying rack), my go-to every day summer wardrobe.   I also think that the sales are fantastic lately, AND the JCrew Mercantile line offers affordable, cute, staple pieces at good prices.

JCrew Mercantile Faux Wrap Mini Dress: is adorable and lightweight.  The color is actually a bit more vibrant in person and the Mercantile line has the price right!

Printed 3 1/2" chino short - These are really cute on and can be paired with any style!!

White Denim Skirt...Staple piece alert! Comfortable, however the length is above the knee (which made me a little nervous honestly, I wasn't confident I could pull that off.  Then I realized I didn't really care, and the rest is history).  I love this skirt!
I mean, you can't shop one without browsing the other.

I got these Crystal Buds Ear Jackets on clearance not too long ago, and I wear them all the time!
(I think they are like $9 right now too!!)

I love Milk and Honey shirts, they are soft, comfy and flattering!  Their designs are bold and statement tees are wonderful.  I ordered this one back in early June so I would have it in time for all star spangled activities this summer.  That being said, when you fall in love with one of their products, take a deep breath and prepare to wait a minute to get your order as they are all custom made upon ordering (so theres a 2-3 week turn around, but it is SO worth the wait)!!
Summer Stars Tee - I am pretty excited to wear this to the Downtown Sewanee 4th of July celebration next week!!
The University of the South campus is so beautiful and hosts a craft fair, parade and lots of other activities for the 4th.

I ordered the Weak Made Strong Muscle Tank earlier this year, and it makes me feel like I am going to succeed every time I wear it (be it working out, cleaning my house or getting through a long summer day at home).

I love hunting new summer styles and learning what friends are finding too! What are your go-to summer pieces?

Mandy will be back next week (I am sure) to share some adorable finds from šŸCharlestonšŸ!

Thank you for joining me today, have a beautiful weekend!!
